Sevigny admitted that she craved more generosity and lightheartedness from Bale in order to feel comfortable on set. She acknowledged that her own ego played a role in her struggle to connect with Bale, as she longed for a more relaxed and social atmosphere. Sevigny’s lack of formal training in acting made it challenging for her to grasp the concept of method acting, leading to feelings of confusion and intimidation.
