The entertainment industry suffered a great loss on July 25th with the passing of Jack Kidd, the head grip for The Bold and The Beautiful. At the age of 60, Kidd was involved in a tragic accident off of Little Tujunga Road, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and kindness.

Born on May 20, 1964, in Artesia, California, Kidd’s passion for the entertainment industry was evident from a young age. He attended Van Nuys High School, where he played the trumpet in the school band, showcasing his talent and commitment to his craft. In 1990, he joined the International Alliance of Theater and Staging Employees (IATSE) No. 33, eventually becoming a board member and an employee of Television City Studios in 1995. Kidd’s journey led him to The Bold and The Beautiful in 2014, where he made a significant impact on the production with his unwavering dedication and professionalism.

According to Jack Forrestel, B&B’s production designer, Kidd was a standout professional in the industry. With over 40 years of experience as an art director, Forrestel highlighted Kidd’s exceptional work ethic and talent, stating, “Every day that he built our sets on Stage 31 at TVC, over the past two decades, he had my trust and gratitude for a job well done.” Kidd’s commitment to his work and his colleagues made him an invaluable member of the B&B team, leaving a lasting impression on all those around him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kidd was known for his dedication to his family and community. A devoted husband to his wife Missy, whom he married in 1987, and a loving father to his children Ally, Erin, and Jackson, Kidd prioritized spending quality time with his loved ones. Whether coaching his son’s little league team, camping with his family at San Clemente or El Capitan beach, or supporting his daughter’s high school marching band, Kidd’s impact extended far beyond the entertainment industry.

As the entertainment industry mourns the loss of Jack Kidd, his memory lives on through the countless lives he touched both on and off the set of The Bold and The Beautiful.
