Shakira Announces New Album: Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran

Recently, Colombian superstar Shakira made a monumental announcement that she is making her grand return to the music scene with a brand new album. The highly anticipated record, titled Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women No Longer Cry), will be her first album of new material in nearly seven years, following her 2017 release, El Dorado. This marks her 12th studio album, and fans all around the world are excited to see what she has in store for them.

The inspiration behind the album’s title comes from a lyric in one of her recent collaborations with Bizarrap, “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” The song addressed her split from Spanish football player Gerard Piqué, with whom she shares two sons. The album also marks her first release since settling a controversial tax evasion case last November. The cover art for the new album features a close-up of Shakira’s face with tears streaking down, which eventually transform into sparkling diamonds on her cheeks.

Shakira shared a heartfelt statement on social media along with the cover art, revealing the personal significance of the album. She expressed gratitude towards her fans, referring to them as her “pack of she-wolves” who have supported her every step of the way. The album creation process was described as an alchemical journey, with each song playing a role in rebuilding herself. Shakira explained how her tears transformed into diamonds and her vulnerability into strength throughout the creative process.

The album will feature a total of 16 tracks, including Shakira’s last seven previously released singles such as “TQG” with Karol G and her collaboration with Bizarrap. These singles have already garnered critical acclaim, winning three prizes at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards. Shakira’s illustrious career began in 1991 at the age of 14, and she has since become a global superstar with numerous chart-topping hits under her belt.

Shakira’s journey to stardom started with her early albums, Magia and Peligro, before achieving commercial success with Pies Descalzos in 1995. She continued to rise in prominence with albums like Dónde Están los Ladrones and Laundry Service, which catapulted her to global fame. Hits like “Whenever Wherever” and “Hips Don’t Lie” solidified her status as one of the most successful artists of her generation. Her most recent studio album, El Dorado, was a massive success, garnering critical acclaim and earning her another Grammy Award.

Shakira’s upcoming album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is a testament to her enduring talent and resilience in the face of adversity. Fans can expect a musical journey that is both personal and powerful, showcasing the evolution of one of music’s most iconic figures. Stay tuned for the release of this highly anticipated album and witness the rebirth of a musical legend.
