Sydney Sweeney’s Candid SNL Monologue Addresses Rumors

Sydney Sweeney recently took the stage as host of Saturday Night Live where she didn’t shy away from addressing the rumors swirling around her life. From the very start of her monologue, Sweeney playfully joked about the box office reception of Madame Web, a Marvel-Sony film she starred in alongside Dakota Johnson. She humorously acknowledged, “You definitely did not see me in Madame Web.”

Expressing her excitement for the audience to get to know the real her, Sweeney candidly shared, “I feel like people only see me as the girl on TV who screams, cries, and has sex. Sometimes it’s all three at the same time.” The actress, originally hailing from Spokane, Washington, cleverly plays with her connection to the neighboring state of Idaho to navigate tricky situations. When faced with uncomfortable questions, such as the one about a Trump-themed party attended by her mom, she quipped, “Ida-ho.”

Sweeney didn’t stop there; she went on to confront various rumors swirling around her on social media platforms. Referring to a TikTok accusation claiming she lied about working at Universal Studios as the host of the Tram Tour, she humorously fired back, “If I didn’t work there, how would I know all of the Universal characters, like Shrok, the Munions, and Harry Porter?”

The talented actress also took the opportunity to dispel rumors of an alleged affair with her co-star Glen Powell from “Anyone But You.” Sweeney made it clear, “That’s obviously not true,” emphasizing that she and her fiancé, who was also a producer on the film, are still going strong. She playfully revealed her fiancé’s presence at SNL and pointed out the mistaken identity when the camera cut to Powell in the audience, teasing, “No, that’s not my fiancé; he’s in my dressing room.”

In her SNL monologue, Sydney Sweeney showcased her wit, charm, and ability to address rumors head-on with humor and grace, proving that she’s not afraid to set the record straight in her own candid way.
