The Debut of Sebastian Roché in K-Drama: Queen of Tears on Netflix

Sebastian Roché, known for his impressive acting career in Hollywood, is now making his debut in the world of K-drama with Netflix’s upcoming series, Queen of Tears. Scheduled to premiere on March 9, Roché will be portraying the character of Dr. Braun, a German doctor who plays a significant role in the lives of the main characters.

Queen of Tears, produced by Studio Dragon, Showrunners, and Culture Depot, follows the story of Hong Hae-in, portrayed by Kim Ji-won, the third-generation heiress of Queens Group. She is married to Baek Hyeon-u, played by Kim Soo-hyun, who is the son of the village chief and known as the prince of supermarkets. The series explores the couple’s marital crisis and their journey towards a new beginning that reshapes their love story.

Apart from Roché, the series features a talented cast including Park Sung-hoon, Kwak Dong-yeon, and Lee Joo Bin, with a guest appearance by Song Joongki. The show is written by Park Ji-eun and directed by Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won.

While Roché is venturing into the K-drama world with Queen of Tears, he is no stranger to the big screen. His previous work includes starring in Paramount’s Taylor Sheridan series, 1923, alongside Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Roché also appeared in Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix, HBO’s The Young Pope with Jude Law, and James Cromwell, as well as Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle.
