Cineworld Group, the world’s second largest theater circuit, recently announced the completion of its executive team with the appointment of new key figures after emerging from bankruptcy in 2023. This move signifies a fresh start for the company and highlights a strategic effort to position itself for growth and success on a global scale.

CEO Eduardo Acuna and CFO Thomas Song of Dine Brands and Aimbridge Hospitality respectively, have joined the ranks of Cineworld’s leadership team. Acuna brings a wealth of experience to the table, while Song’s background in the hospitality industry adds a unique perspective to the financial aspects of the business.

In addition to Acuna and Song, Cineworld has also welcomed other key executives to its team. Former Warner Bros. Discovery executive Ben Hill has been appointed as the head of HR, bringing with him a diverse portfolio of experience in talent acquisition, organizational development, and more. John Henrich, previously at Sally Beauty Holdings, now serves as the general counsel, providing legal expertise and guidance to the organization.

Javier Sotomayor, joining from Cinepolis, takes on the role of president of Cineworld International, leveraging his extensive experience in start-ups, marketing, and strategic planning to drive international growth. John Curry, promoted from Regal, now serves as SVP, Commercial, bringing with him a deep understanding of the industry.

With this new executive team in place, Cineworld is poised to navigate the challenges of the industry and capitalize on opportunities for growth and expansion.
